Job summary

The City of Gold Coast is seeking a Supervisor Carpentry to oversee maintenance across carpentry, joinery, concreting and bricklaying, ensuring safe and timely delivery within budgets. You will coordinate daily operations, allocate resources, and manage contractors while providing technical guidance to sustain a diverse range of infrastructure assets.

The role leads a team, monitors performance, and works with stakeholders and the community to achieve high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery is mandatory.
• C Class Drivers Licence (Unrestricted) is mandatory.
• General Construction Induction Card (White) is mandatory.
• QBCC Supervisors Licence is mandatory.
• Builders Licence is highly regarded.
• Leadership and Management qualifications or equivalent knowledge.
• Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience.
• Ability to participate in an on-call roster and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise repairs and maintenance across carpentry, joinery, concreting and bricklaying functions.
• Ensure safe, compliant, cost-effective and timely delivery of works within budgets and service standards.
• Coordinate daily maintenance operations, allocate resources, manage contractors and works programs.
• Provide specialist technical advice to support maintenance of assets.
• Lead and develop team members, monitor performance and compliance requirements.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors and community members to achieve high-quality maintenance outcomes.
