Job summary

Fitout Company in Brendale QLD is seeking a hands-on Production/Operations coordinator to manage site tasks, safety and delivery flow. You will lead tradespeople and apprentices, ensure equipment usage safety, and maintain storeroom and factory operations.

The role requires close collaboration with the Production Manager, handling RFIs, procurement support, and daily site readiness. Applicants should be on-site in Brendale with strong safety and team leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Must have experience coordinating tradespeople and apprentices.
• Strong communication to avoid injuries and ensure smooth workflow.
• Ability to manage storage, deliveries and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Identify conflicts or issues within plans.
• Submit RFIs to Production Manager.
• Assign tasks to tradespeople & apprentices.
• Provide clear instruction to tradespeople & apprentices.
• Ensure apprentices and new staff know how to use equipment safely.
• Allocate storage for bulk orders & site material.
• Assist with procurement when required.
• Accept inward deliveries if the logistics coordinator is off site.
• Maintain high quality control and rectify issues before dispatch to site.
• Maintain storeroom & board racks and unpack stock.
• Maintain safe working environment for factory staff.
• Report machine faults or maintenance to Production Manager.
• Report site incidents to Production Manager & Ops Manager.
• Maintain open communication with Production Manager for smooth site operations.
• Open factory each morning and close in afternoon.
• Any other tasks requested by Production Manager.

Job description

· Identify conflicts or potential issues within the scope or plans

· Submit RFI’s to Production Manager

· Assigning and delegating tasks to tradespeople & apprentices

· Provide clear instruction to tradespeople & apprentices

· Ensure all apprentices & new staff know how to use equipment properly before allowing unsupervised use -to prevent injuries & damage to machinery

· Allocate storage for bulk orders & site material

· Assist Production manager with procurement if required

· Accept inward deliveries if fleet & logistics coordinator is off site

· Maintain high level of quality control & rectify any issues before items leave for site

· Maintain storeroom & board racks, including unpacking stock into appropriate locations

· Ensure factory staff maintain a safe working environment

· Report any machine faults or maintenance requirements to production manager

· Report any site incidents to the production manager & Ops manager ASAP

· Keep an open line of communication with the production manager to ensure the site runs smoothly and advise them of any potential delays or general concerns

· Open factory each morning -all equipment is turned on

· Close the factory each afternoon -all equipment is turned off & doors are locked

· Any other task requested by Production manager
