Job summary

The Victorian Government's Department of Education invites applications for an ongoing full-time Senior Project and Procurement Officer based in Melbourne CBD/Hybrid, to lead external assessments including VCE Languages and manage procurement and contracts.

Reporting to the Manager, Languages Assessment, you will coordinate panels, supervise exam materials, ensure quality, and deliver on time within budget, with occasional work outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in project management and procurement, and a tertiary qualification in Education or a relevant field.
• Desirable: Expertise in assessment, preferably in Languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development of external assessments, including Languages, within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Plan and lead complex, high-value procurement activities in line with procurement and financial policies.
• Manage complex, high-value contracts with multiple suppliers and ensure performance standards.
• Lead and project‑manage the development of high-quality external assessments within timelines and budget.
• Provide leadership and capability development to examination panel members and lead assessors.
• Maintain quality assurance processes and uphold accurate physical and digital records of assessment materials.
• Deliver timely project reporting and monitor emerging risks and issues.
• Oversee appointment and training of examination panels and assessors; support assessment logistics.
