Job summary

The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley is seeking a motivated Operator to join the Landfill Team in Kununurra. You will oversee disposal site operations, perform pre-operational checks and ensure compliance with regulations while delivering top-notch customer service to the public.

Key duties include operating landfill equipment, maintaining records, inspecting loads for hazards, and supporting other site operations as required. A WA MR or HR licence is essential; First Aid is desirable.

Qualifications

• Current WA MR or HR Class Driver’s Licence is essential.
• First Aid qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in East Kimberley conditions and to operate relevant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-operational checks and report faults.
• Maximise plant and machinery efficiency on all tasks.
• Construct and maintain landfill storm water swale drains, retention ponds and internal roads.
• Compact waste, push up waste and recyclables, operate water and hook lift trucks daily.
• Provide high-quality customer service to residents, contractors and business owners.
• Assist with gatekeeping duties including operating boom gate/ weighbridge and maintaining records.
