Job summary

Downer Transport & Infrastructure seeks an Experienced Laboratory Technician to perform testing on construction materials at our Gosnells, WA site. The role involves handling asphalt, aggregates and related materials, ensuring quality standards and project specifications are met across major infrastructure projects.

You will conduct testing, prepare samples, record results and contribute to QA activities while promoting safety and teamwork within a dynamic lab environment in Western Australia.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent industry experience preferred.
• Experience in construction materials, asphalt, concrete, geotechnical or related lab environments.
• Current Driver's Licence required.
• Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
• Sound computer and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of asphalt, aggregates and other construction materials.
• Sample, prepare and test materials according to relevant standards and procedures.
• Record, analyse and report test results accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with quality assurance and compliance activities.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety initiatives and team activities.
• Support laboratory operations across multiple projects and sites.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a safe, organised work environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.

Experienced Laboratory Technician required to perform testing on construction materials, support major infrastructure projects and maintain quality standards across WA.

Downer Transport & Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team based in Gosnells, WA. In this role, you will perform laboratory testing and analysis of construction materials used across major infrastructure projects, helping ensure products meet quality standards and project specifications. This role may involve occasional travel to support nearby operational sites and project requirements.

About the Role

• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of asphalt, aggregates and other construction materials
• Sample, prepare and test materials in accordance with relevant standards and procedures
• Record, analyse and report test results accurately and efficiently
• Assist with quality assurance and compliance activities
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety initiatives and team activities
• Support laboratory operations across a variety of projects and sites

What You'll Bring
