Job summary

The Laboratory Officer at The University of Notre Dame Australia–Fremantle Campus contributes to efficient laboratory services in health sciences, supporting teaching, research, and practical learning. Responsibilities include setup, equipment maintenance, and ensuring safety across simulation and teaching spaces.

Working with academic staff, HDR students, and researchers, you will manage equipment, calibrations, and inventory while upholding policies and best practices in a dynamic university

Qualifications

• Proven laboratory experience in higher education preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to staff, researchers, HDR students, and students.
• Prepare, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Manage inventory, records, and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain safety and compliance via risk assessments and SOPs.
• Coordinate equipment servicing and procurement with stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of lab operations.
