Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience in print industry ink colour matching.
• Strong understanding of colour theory, spectrophotometry and colour measurement systems.
• Experience with gravure, UV flexographic, water-based inks and metal decorating inks for cans.
• Ability to work with manual and instrument-based colour matching techniques.
• Experience interpreting customer colour standards and specifications.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with colour management software.

Working closely with our laboratory and production teams, you will be responsible for colour matching, formulation support, quality control testing, and assisting in the development and optimisation of ink systems to meet customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Accurate colour matching of inks to customer standards and Pantone references.
• Formulation, adjustment, and testing of inks for a variety of printing applications.
• Quality control testing and batch verification.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment, records, and testing procedures.
• Assisting with new product development and customer trials.
• Troubleshooting colour and print performance issues.
• Preparing laboratory samples and supporting customer requests.
• Ensuring all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

About you

• Proven experience in print industry ink colour matching.
• Strong understanding of colour theory, spectrophotometry, and colour measurement systems.
• Demonstrated experience across multiple ink technologies, including gravure inks, UV flexographic inks, water-based inks, metal decorating inks for 2-piece cans, metal decorating inks for 3-piece cans, and other packaging and specialty ink systems.
• Ability to work with both manual and instrument-based colour matching techniques.
• Experience interpreting customer colour standards and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Computer literacy and experience with colour management software preferred.
• Experience working within a commercial ink manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and laboratory best practices.
