Job summary

Central Coast Steiner School in NSW is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician / Science Education Support Assistant to support practical science learning in the High School. You will prepare resources, maintain lab equipment, and assist teachers and students in hands-on activities.

You will ensure safety compliance, support stages 4-5 NSW/IB science curricula, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment aligned with Steiner education principles.

Qualifications

• Qualified or experienced in Science, Laboratory Technology, Education Support, or related field.
• Experience in preparing, organising and maintaining resources for practical Science lessons.
• Understanding laboratory safety procedures, SDS, and WHS obligations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to a safe, organised lab environment.
• Strong stock control, inventory management and procurement skills.
• Ability to support teachers and students across Stage 4-5.

Responsibilities

• Prepare resources and equipment for practical Science lessons.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and resources.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and SDS.
• Support teachers and students in hands-on learning experiences.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver effective practical learning.
• Maintain records, inventories and laboratory documentation.
• Support students with diverse learning needs as required.
