Job summary

Brennan IT is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join our Cyber Security team in Brisbane. This role blends hands-on incident response with engineering to strengthen our managed security services in a fast-paced environment.

You will act as an escalation point, investigate incidents, and implement security controls across SIEM, SOAR, and endpoint platforms while collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure robust protection and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Australian Citizenship and NV1 Security Clearance eligibility.
• Experience investigating and responding to security incidents.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, endpoint security and identity management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Act as an escalation point for Security Analysts and investigate complex incidents.
• Configure, administer and optimise SIEM, SOAR, endpoint, identity and vulnerability management platforms.
• Onboard and transition customers onto managed security services with proper log collection and configuration.
• Build and maintain security automations and runbooks for efficient operations.
• Support platform upgrades, tuning, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver high‑quality security outcomes.
