Job summary

Morrison is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant in Port Macquarie to support meal service for seniors across breakfast to dinner. This casual role offers varied shifts 7am–7pm, with training provided and uniform and parking available.

You will assist in food preparation, serve meals, and follow all Food Safety procedures while maintaining cleanliness. Prior healthcare experience is valued, along with good communication and data-entry capabilities on iPad or computer.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or aged care is highly favoured.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to monitor and improve service quality and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with electronic data entry on iPad or computer is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and sandwich-making.
• Serve breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
• Follow Food Safety procedures and standards.
• Demonstrate adaptability by taking on varied tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen, dining areas and with equipment.

$27.09 base rate + $6.77 casual loading + 12% super + penalty rates as a casual employee

• Port Macquarie
• Casual position with a variety of shifts across 7 days, 7am to 7pm
• Parking onsite, uniform provided, training provided

THE ROLE

• Assist in food preparation and sandwich-making
• Serving breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals
• Following all Food and Safety procedures
• Demonstrate adaptability by taking on various tasks and responsibilities as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and dining areas and with equipment
• Maintain stores and monitor stock where needed

THE PERSON

• Experience in the healthcare or aged care sector highly favoured, although not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and improve service quality, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Previous experience with electronic data entry into iPads or computers is highly regarded
• Hold a police check or be willing to obtain one
