Job summary

Anglicare Southern Queensland – Kirami Residential Aged Care Home in Hervey Bay invites applications for a casual or part-time Support Services Worker (Kitchen). You will assist the cook/chef with meal preparation and serving, and help keep kitchen spaces clean in a home-like, respectful environment for residents.

You will follow food safety principles, operate kitchen equipment per instructions, and work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in food prep and equipment operation in a care or commercial setting.
• Knowledge of infection control and food handling.
• Good oral, written and interpersonal communication.
• Discretion handling sensitive information.
• Commitment to elderly care.
• WH&S and manual handling awareness.
• Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) or similar is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and mid-meals.
• Clean food prep and dining areas.
• Ensure food safety principles are followed.
• Advise cook/chef of issues in food prep and service.
• Maintain storage of food and related products.
• Operate equipment per instructions.
