Qualifications

At InterContinental Brisbane we are looking for a Kitchen Steward - Part Time to join our Stewarding team.

Your Day to Day

  • Own the kitchen/stewarding area - keep on top of supplies and equipment, and removing waste
  • Ensuring there are clean plates, cutlery and other equipment is readily available for guests and colleagues
  • Collaborate with other departments and take on ad-hoc duties as required
  • Tell your supervisor or duty manager about any unsafe equipment, low supplies or safety incidents
  • Help create a safe space by following our safety procedures and wearing necessary protective equipment
  • Clean chinaware, flatware, glassware, kitchen utensils, and equipment.
  • Deep clean machinery, fridges, and other furniture as scheduled.
  • Ensure dishwashing areas are tidy and all equipment is functional.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including safe use of chemicals and equipment.

What we need from you

  • Experience in large-scale operations such as hotels, resorts, or high-volume restaurants is particularly valued.
  • Food Safety Certification (preferred)
  • Capacity to lift, push and pull objects up to 23kg. This can involve bending and kneeling
  • Flexibility to work across a 7 day roster – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
  • Must have a right to work in Australia
