Job summary

Garden of Goodness on the Gold Coast is seeking a reliable kitchen support team member. You’ll assist with opening/closing, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean, sanitised kitchen environment while helping with basic food prep and stock control.

The role suits someone eager to learn about food safety and plant-based meals. No formal quals are required, but a Cert 2 in food preparation is a plus; previous hospitality experience helps, and a positive team player attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required, but Cert 2 in food preparation or a food handling certificate is a plus.
• Previous experience as a dishwasher, waiter or in hospitality can help but is not essential.
• Good time management and ability to follow manual tasks are valued.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with kitchen open and close procedures, including set up and pack down
• Load and unload dishwashing machines and hand-wash specific items as needed
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
• Remove garbage regularly and keep the kitchen area clean, tidy and sanitised, including floors
• Follow daily deep cleaning schedules and maintain cleaning supply stock
• Help set up workstations before meal prep begins
• Work alongside our Head Chefs, Cooks and Prep Cooks to assist with preparing, cooking, portioning, sealing and safely storing D2C and catering meals
• Perform basic food preparation tasks under supervision
• Keep fresh and dry ingredients safely stored and stocked, using our production software to track inventory
• Operate sealing equipment and assist with plating and portioning
• Report any equipment, quality or ingredient issues to the team
• Other tasks as directed

What We’re Looking For

• A willingness to learn about food safety, with an interest in plant-based wholefoods
• No formal qualifications required, but Cert 2 in food preparation or a food handling certificate is a plus
• Previous experience as a dishwasher, wait staff or in a hospitality/food environment is helpful but not essential
• Good time management and the ability to follow instructions on manual tasks
• A strong work ethic and a team-player attitude
