Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant for Cliftonville Care Home in Northampton. You will support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean kitchen to ensure high-quality meals and beverages for residents.

You will also help with safety, hygiene, and resident care, while contributing to a helpful, collaborative kitchen team and meeting the needs of residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Able to manage a demanding workload with a high level of physical effort.
• Demonstrates a caring and respectful attitude towards residents.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Kitchen Assistant is tosupport

the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Understandingthe principles of safe food handling, to ensure all food preparations undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene.
• Contributingfully to team working, responding positively tocolleagues,and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
• Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
• Actingaccordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
