Job summary

Buddies Early Learning Centre in Melbourne, Victoria, is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to lead a high-quality, play-based kindergarten program. You will plan, implement and evaluate learning experiences, use observations to extend thinking, and support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development.

Qualifications

• An approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification recognised in Australia.
• Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, or eligibility to obtain registration.
• A minimum of one year of relevant Early Childhood Teacher experience.
• Sound knowledge of the EYLF, VEYLDF, NQF and NQS.
• A strong understanding of play-based learning, intentional teaching and contemporary early childhood pedagogy.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A commitment to child safety, inclusion and creating an environment where every child can participate, learn and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate a high-quality, play-based kindergarten program.
• Use observations, assessment and critical reflection to extend children's learning.
• Create environments that encourage curiosity, investigation, problem-solving and sustained shared thinking.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development.
• Develop meaningful and respectful relationships with children and families.
• Work collaboratively with educators, leadership and other professionals.
• Maintain educational documentation, planning and assessment records.
• Support inclusive practices and individual children's learning and developmental needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and the service's Quality Improvement Plan.
• Ensure practices meet the EYLF, VEYLDF, NQF and NQS.
