Job summary

Moon Dog Wild West Geelong is seeking a proactive Junior Sous Chef to join our high-energy kitchen, partnering with the Head Chef and Sous Chef. You will help run busy service, craft Tex-Mex, Americana and Aussie Pub dishes, and ensure top quality and safety in a fast-paced pub kitchen.

Ideal candidates will have several years in similar roles, strong food knowledge, ordering and stock control experience, and a positive, team-focused attitude. Nights, weekends, and public holidays are essential.

Qualifications

• Several years proven experience in large, fast-paced kitchens.
• Experience with Tex Mex/American/Aussie Pub dishes is ideal.
• Ability to lead during busy service and manage stock.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen team in service in collaboration with Head Chef & Sous Chef.
• Prepare and cook Tex-Mex, Americana & Aussie Pub dishes to high standards.
• Maintain health and safety standards across all stations.
• Manage ordering and stock control for shifts.
• Be available to work nights, weekends and public holidays.

Junior Sous Chef at Moon Dog Wild West - Geelong

Saddle up Gunslingers, Moon Dog Wild West is coming to Geelong!!

We're beyond excited to be bringing our really bloody fun & unique brand of hospitality to beautiful Geelong, aiming to swing open the saloon doors in late November!! We've taken over the old Geelong Hotel pub and are adding a mechanical bull and live music stage to really ramp up the fun!! We will be offering the best in food, beverages and entertainment, with our signature cheeky twist.

We’re seeking an experienced Junior Sous Chef to work with our Head Chef & Sous Chef in taking the reins in the kitchen. You will help to lead our kitchen team in smashing out delicious Tex-Mex, Americana & Aussie Pub inspired dishes. An emerging leader with experience in fast-paced, large kitchens, you will hustle to ensure Moon Dog Geelong is one of the best places to work & eat in town!

The ideal candidate will have several years proven experience in similar roles (large, pumping, pub-like venues) and take great pride in what they do.

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 5 years experience as a qualified chef
• Experience in running busy service periods
• Strong food knowledge, ideally with Tex Mex/American/Aussie Pub Food or similar
• Experience with ordering and stock control
• Positive, friendly attitude, good people skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of health and safety standards
• The ability to work nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Full availability over the busy summer period
