Job summary

Department of Education Victoria is seeking a Junior Salesforce Developer to contribute to the ongoing development, maintenance and support of the Department's Salesforce Platform and related applications. You will join the Salesforce Platform BAU team, delivering enhancements, configuration and development tasks, while resolving issues under guidance.

You will progressively build technical capability in Apex, Lightning Web Components and Salesforce capabilities, participating in code reviews,

Qualifications

Essential: tertiary qualification in IT, CS, SE or related field or equivalent industry experience.
Essential: foundational Salesforce platform knowledge including configuration, data model, security.
Essential: understanding of software development fundamentals, including version control, testing, debugging and code quality.
Desirable: Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I or Administrator, or willingness to obtain relevant certification.

Responsibilities

Undertaking Salesforce development and configuration activities to support BAU enhancements, fixes and continuous improvement.
Developing and maintaining Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, Flow, Omnistudio and other Salesforce platform capabilities.
Analyzing and resolving BAU defects, incidents and technical issues, escalating complex issues where appropriate.
Implementing changes in accordance with established Salesforce architecture, development, security and platform standards.
Developing and maintaining Apex unit tests and undertaking appropriate testing and debugging of changes.
Participating in code reviews and peer reviews, ensuring solutions are secure, maintainable and aligned with development standards.
Supporting release and deployment activities across Salesforce environments.
Contributing to the management and reduction of technical debt, including remediation of code quality, maintainability and platform issues.
Assisting with ongoing maintenance, performance, stability and scalability of Salesforce applications.
Working with Platform Administrators, developers, testers and other technical team members to investigate and resolve BAU issues.
Contributing to appropriate technical documentation relating to changes, solutions and platform components.
Following established DevOps, source control, change management and release management practices.
