Job summary

Intetics Inc. in Hobart, Australia is seeking a Junior LiDAR Specialist to process and analyze aerial LiDAR and point cloud data for utility and power projects.

You will focus on processing, classifying, and validating LiDAR data, and extracting and modeling assets such as power lines, conductors, poles, towers, vegetation, and ground features. The role requires 1–4 years of LiDAR experience, strong attention to data quality, and basic GIS knowledge; experience with TerraSOLID or MicroStation is

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience with LiDAR and point cloud processing.
• Hands-on experience with point cloud classification and QA/QC.
• Experience with 3D spatial data and feature extraction from LiDAR.
• Basic to intermediate GIS knowledge.

GIS and LiDAR are among our key areas of expertise, and we work with large-scale spatial and 3D datasets for infrastructure and utility projects.

We are looking for a Junior LiDAR Specialist to join our team and work on projects involving the processing and analysis of aerial LiDAR and point cloud data for utility and power infrastructure.

The role focuses on processing, classifying, and validating LiDAR data, as well as extracting and modeling utility assets such as power lines, conductors, poles, towers, vegetation, and ground features.

• 1–4 years of experience with LiDAR / point cloud processing.
• Hands-on experience with point cloud classification and QA/QC.
• Experience working with 3D spatial data.
• Experience with feature extraction from LiDAR data.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data-quality issues.
• Basic/intermediate GIS knowledge.

Nice to Have

• Experience with utility, power transmission, or distribution data.
• Experience with aerial LiDAR.
• Experience working with conductors, poles/towers, vegetation, and ground classes.
• Understanding of conductor/catenary modeling and clearance analysis.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, TerraSolid/TerraScan, or MicroStation.
• Experience with utility asset modeling or powerline mapping.
