About the role

We are seeking a Junior HR / Administration Support professional to join our team in Hobart, TAS. This is a part‑time position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your administrative and human resources skills whilst supporting the essential operations of a growing disability care organisation. In this role, you will provide critical administrative and HR support that enables our team to focus on delivering outstanding care to our clients. You will work closely with our HR and administration teams, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and that our workplace operates efficiently and professionally.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining records.
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening applications, and coordinating interviews.
  • Support the onboarding of new staff members, including preparing documentation and coordinating induction activities.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring all information is accurate, current, and confidential.
  • Assist with the preparation of HR documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to other departments within the organisation as needed.
  • Answer phones and manage general enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical, ensuring information is well‑organised and easily accessible.
  • Support the organisation of staff meetings, training sessions, and company events.
  • Assist with basic payroll administration and employee benefits processing under supervision.
What we’re looking for
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
  • A genuine interest in human resources and administration, with a willingness to learn.
  • Customer service experience or experience working in a support role.
  • Basic knowledge of HR processes and procedures, or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a commitment to supporting team members.
  • Experience working in the disability care, aged care, or health and social care sector is advantageous but not essential.
  • A current Working with Children Check or Blue Card (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.
