Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Mile End, SA, is seeking a Junior Estimator to join our civil construction estimating team. Reporting to the Sales & Estimating Manager, you will assist in preparing bids for state government, local government, and civil contractors across SA and NT.

You will review drawings, RFQs, and tender specs; help ensure accurate costing, coordinate subcontractor pricing, and support tender handovers to operations.

Qualifications

• 12 months prior experience in an estimating role
• Experience reviewing RFQs and preparing detailed estimates from drawings and information provided by clients
• Knowledge of estimating software such as Benchmark

Responsibilities

• Review specifications, quality, safety, and other requirements for all tenders.
• Review RFQs and prepare detailed estimates based on drawings and information provided by our clients
• Ensure resource rates used are correct, coordinating and sending out subcontractor pricing requests, and performing price analysis.
• Price direct job cost items in Benchmark Estimating Software and assist in compiling tender support information.
• Participate in meetings and tender reviews, ensuring tenders and quotes are submitted in a suitable format at the appropriate time, assisting with the handover of successful tenders to operational staff.

What’s on offer?

With continued growth we are looking to appoint a Junior Estimator to join our Infrastructure Services business in Mile End, SA. Reporting to the Sales & Estimating Manager, you will play an important role within our estimating team. Servicing and providing bids for key clients which include state government, local government and civil contractors throughout SA and NT.

Day to day you will:

• Review specifications, quality, safety, and other requirements for all tenders.
• Review RFQ’s and prepare detailed estimates based on drawings and information provided by our clients
• Ensure resource rates used are correct, coordinating and sending out subcontractor/supplier pricing requests, and performing price analysis.
• Price of direct job cost items in Benchmark Estimating Software and assist in compiling tender support information.
• Participate in meetings and tender reviews, ensuring tenders and quotes are submitted in a suitable format at the appropriate time, assisting with the handover of successful tenders to operational staff.

How you will connect to the role:

• Experience in the civil construction field (preferably in road surfacing)
• Excellent communication skills, ability to build a good rapport with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers across the industry.
• Experience with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Power point)
• Knowledge of estimating software such as Benchmark would be highly regarded
• Circa 12 months prior experience in an Estimating role (ideal)
