Job summary

Small Animal Specialist Hospital – Tuggerah NSW is expanding its Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) department. We are adding a veterinarian to support a junior ECC vet with structured learning, mentorship, and safe confidence-building.

The ECC team is led by Criticalists and supported by a skilled nursing staff, with access to on-site medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, oncology, cardiology, and anaesthesia. This role offers paid, structured education sessions, and collaboration with experienced

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ clinical experience post degree.
• Registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
• A strong interest in developing their ECC skills.
• A collaborative approach and desire to practice high-quality medicine.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support a junior ECC veterinarian with structured learning.
• Collaborate with criticalists and the nursing team to deliver high-quality emergency care.
• Provide care within a well-resourced ECC service and participate in structured education sessions.

Are you ready to step into Emergency and Critical Care (ECC), but want to do it properly,fully supported - we have the role for you!

We are adding an additional veterinarian to our roster to specifically support a junior ECC vet who wants structured learning, mentorship, and the time to build confidence safely.

Our ECC department is supported byCriticalistsDr Lisa Smart and Dr Sophia Morse, highly experienced ECC clinicians, and an exceptional nursing team.

You will also have direct access to medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, oncology, cardiology, anaesthesia and more on site, with support from the broader SASH specialist network including neurology and exotics.

This is a collaborative, well-resourced ECC service where high-acuity medicine is practiced with structure,teamworkand genuine specialist support.

We are looking for a veterinarian with:
