Job summary

Assembly Label is seeking a Junior Designer to join our Design team at our Alexandria Head Office. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an emerging creative to work closely with the Head of Design and Senior Designer, supporting seasonal collections and capsules.

You will gain hands-on experience across the full design and development process, from trend research and concept creation through to technical development, supplier collaboration and production handover.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ industry experience in fashion design or related field.
• Fashion design degree or relevant technical qualification.
• Strong fit and construction understanding.
• Experience working with offshore suppliers.
• Excellent drawing and technical illustration skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop seasonal collections with Head of Design and Senior Designer.
• Create mood boards and seasonal trends.
• Provide technical input through all design stages.
• Prepare technical development packs and specs.
• Brief suppliers and manage timelines and costing expectations.
• Oversee pre-production sample process and handover to production.
• Ensure traceability, safety, and fit-for-purpose developments.
• Support circular strategy initiatives with the design team.

Assembly Label is seeking a Junior Designer to join our Design team at our Alexandria Head Office. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging creative to work closely with the Head of Design and Senior Designer, supporting the development of seasonal collections, exclusive retail projects and capsules. The role offers hands‑on experience across the end‑to‑end design and development process, from trend research and concept creation through to technical development, supplier collaboration and production handover, contributing to the continued growth of our multi‑channel fashion brand.

The Role

This role is a creative and technical position working closely with the Design and Product Development teams on seasonal collections for assigned categories

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the Head of Design andSenior Designer to develop collections, exclusive retail projects and capsules.
• Work closely with Head of Design and Senior Designer on seasonal trends and mood boards
• Provide technical input into all stages of the design process.
• Research and Development across all categories
• Complete Cad design and presentations for review with Head of Design
• Prepare and present relevant category collections to Directors.
• Create thorough and detailed technical development packs for new seasonal ranges
• Maintain all spec sheets with direction of the Designer, ensuring all information is continually kept up to date.
• Responsible for briefing the supplier on the new developments, problem solving/concerns and communicating clear timelines and costing expectations.
• Management of P1, P2, SMS and PPS stages ensuring there is clear handover to the production team for bulk.
• Work with existing and new suppliers to develop Assembly Label products.
• Manage the pre-production sample process and effectively communicate all styles and quality specifications to the production team for a streamline handover.
• Responsible for ensuring all developments meet our traceability strategy, legal & safety requirements and are fit for purpose.
• Thoughtfully consider the development construction and fabrication methods in line with the business goals of price and timing..
• Ensure the Critical Path key dates are met.
• Responsible for the on time and correct handover of design and development to production.
• Ensuring the Assembly label products are developed in accordance with the expectations of the
• Contribute to the development of the Circular strategy within Assembly Label. Owners, Creative Director and Designers.

About You

• 4+ years’ industry experience in the related field.
• Fashion Design or relevant technical qualification.
• Fit and construction understanding and skills
• Experience working with offshore suppliers.
• Strong Drawing / Tech illustrator skills.
• Exceptional eye for detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & within deadlines
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to support the execution and delivery of ranges in line with Assembly Label’s brand DNA.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
