Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join our 24/7 Security Operations Centre in Canberra. You will monitor networks for anomalies, perform basic triage and support end-to-end incident handling under mentorship.

The role offers on-site 5 days a week with shift work and opportunities for training and career growth. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, focusing on protecting Australian Defence Force personnel and systems.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in Cyber Security Operations with industry or tertiary certifications/ qualifications.
• Basic to intermediate skills in SIEM operation and ability to follow a chain of events across multiple searches.
• Strong critical thinking skills to question unknowns and find solutions.
• Proactive in identifying issues and developing solutions through automation or process improvements.
• Understanding of security controls and medium-level incident response with 1–2 years of cyber security or IT operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks for anomalies, events and alerts in a 24/7 SOC environment.
• Perform basic triage and manage events end-to-end when appropriate.
• Collaborate with senior analysts for mentorship and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation to enhance operations.
• Support training and career growth through mentoring and certifications.
