Job summary

Vault Minerals is seeking a Jumbo Operator to safely and accurately drill underground development headings in accordance with mine plans. The role supports ground support installation, face preparation and general jumbo operation duties at the Darlot operation in WA.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of underground Jumbo experience, with Atlas Copco or Sandvik rigs, a valid WA driver’s license, and DGSC plus Working at Heights certification. FIFO from Perth on a 14:14 roster is available.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years recent experience operating Jumbo rigs in underground hard rock mining.
• Experience operating Atlas Copco, Sandvik, or similar jumbos.
• Current WA Manual Driver’s Licence (C-Class).
• WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
• Nationally Accredited Working at Heights Certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate twin-boom and/or single-boom jumbos to drill development headings.
• Mark up faces for drilling and ground support installation.
• Install ground support including bolts, mesh, and straps.
• Conduct scaling operations to remove loose rock.
• Perform pre-start inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Liaise with engineers, surveyors, and geologists.
• Undertake minor maintenance tasks on equipment.

Darlot Site Overview

The Jumbo Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate drilling of underground development headings in accordance with mine plans. This includes installing ground support, face preparation, and general jumbo operation duties.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Operate twin-boom and/or single-boom jumbos to safely and accurately drill development headings.
• Mark up faces for drilling and ground support installation.
• Install ground support including bolts, mesh, and straps.
• Conduct scaling operations to remove loose rock.
• Perform pre-start inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Liaise with engineers, surveyors, and geologists.
• Undertake minor maintenance tasks on equipment.
• Complete shift reports, drill logs, and maintenance logs.
• Take responsibility for the underground nipper whiles assisting setup, bolting, meshing and boring.

About You:

• Minimum 3–5 years recent experience operating Jumbo rigs in underground hard rock mining
• Experience operating Atlas Copco, Sandvik, or similar jumbos
• Current WA Manual Driver’s License (C-Class)
• WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
• Nationally Accredited Working at Heights Certification
