Job summary

Zip Co Limited is looking for an IT Operations Engineer to join our Corporate IT team in Melbourne. You will provide Level 2 support, own incident resolution across Windows, macOS and cloud apps, and help deliver end-to-end IT projects.

You’ll collaborate with a regional team in a hands-on environment, advocating automation, security, and scalable workplace technologies. The role is hybrid with three days weekly at the CBD office and opportunities to grow within Zip’s Technology function.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise IT environments across Windows, macOS and cloud-based workplace technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Jamf.
  • Experience automating operational tasks using PowerShell, Python or Bash.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve troubleshooting, scripting, documentation and service delivery.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across endpoints, identity, collaboration tools and enterprise applications.
  • Hands-on experience with IT service management platforms such as Jira Service Management or ServiceNow.
  • Experience delivering small to medium IT projects and managing vendors and stakeholder relationships.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and VPNs.
  • Strong communication, customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn, and grow

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 support for incidents, service requests and technical escalations
  • Be the primary in-person contact for Service Desk in the Melbourne office
  • Administer and support workplace technologies including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Entra ID, Intune, Jamf and enterprise SaaS platforms
  • Develop scripts, automations and AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
  • Troubleshoot recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions
  • Deliver small to medium IT projects from planning through implementation
  • Coordinate vendors, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver workplace technology initiatives
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles and standard operating procedures
  • Build strong relationships with employees through clear communication and excellent customer service
  • Coach and support Service Desk analysts (L1) through technical guidance and knowledge sharing
  • Partner with Security, People Operations and wider business teams to deliver reliable technology services

As an IT Operations Engineer in our Corporate IT team, you’ll help Zipsters get the most from the technology they use every day.
