Job description

Supporting a range of desktop environments connecting to a variety of Microsoft products and applications, the role is required to problem solve and deliver satisfactory outcomes in a customer friendly manner. In addition to the above, this position plays a crucial role in protecting an organization's information assets, managing risks, validation and ensuring compliance with applicable systems.

About the role :

The IT Support Specialist will :

  • Provide Technical Support : Provide technical assistance to end-users on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Manage Incidents : Monitor and respond to IT incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate records of support activities, including incident reports and resolutions.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with other IT teams to escalation and resolve complex issues.
  • System Monitoring : Continuously monitor IT systems to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Emergency Response : Be available for emergency IT issues and provide support as needed.

This is a Full-Time opportunity based in our Geelong office within our Information Technology Team. The position reports to the Service Delivery Manager

Key Selection Criteria :

The incumbent will have :

  • A minimum of two years of IT experience
  • A bachelor's degree in information systems and / or equivalent work experience or IT professional certification
  • Available to work non business hours, some weekends maybe required.
  • Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Platforms, especially Active Directory, Defender, Endpoint, Exchange Online, Purview, SharePoint Online and Team.
  • Proficiency with LAN, WAN, and Wireless networking.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion and caring attitude
  • Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families
