Schneider Electric in Sydney is seeking two IoT Engineers to design, commission and integrate on-premises and cloud-enabled Digital Services solutions. You will manage end-to-end testing, documentation and cybersecurity checks for projects across IT/OT environments.

Reporting to the Digital Operations Manager, you’ll work with Pacific Zone teams to deliver reliable digital infrastructure and application outcomes while contributing to architecture, tender support and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with prior IoT/ Digital Services experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical concepts and OT/IT integration.
• Experience with Ethernet networks and related protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, IEC61850).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver technical scope for Digital Services projects end-to-end.
• Commission, deploy, configure, integrate, test, and hand over solutions including IoT hardware, software, and cloud platforms.
• Provide secure connectivity, interoperability and cybersecurity compliance across environments.
• Create and maintain Detailed Technical Designs, Network Diagrams and handover packs.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, our Digital Services team is currently seeking two IoT (Internet of Things) Engineers to join us in Sydney. This exciting new career opportunity will see you responsible for the design, commissioning, provisioning, configuration and integration of on-premises and cloud-enabled solutions, together with end-to-end testing, technical documentation and cybersecurity checks.

Reporting to the Digital (IoT) Operations Manager, you will take ownership of assigned technical scope from project handover through commissioning and closure. You will work with our Pacific Zone Projects and Services teams, Customers, Service Representatives and regional Connected Services Hub teams to deliver reliable digital infrastructure and application outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver the technical scope of Digital Services projects, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
• Commission, deploy, configure, integrate, test, and hand over Schneider Electric Digital Services solutions, including IoT hardware, software platforms, and cloud-enabled technologies within customer IT and OT environments.
• Provision and integrate Schneider Electric products and third-party systems, ensuring secure connectivity, interoperability, and cybersecurity compliance.
• Perform end-to-end testing and support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including validation of system performance, communications, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Develop, review, maintain, and submit technical documentation, including Detailed Technical Designs, Functional Designs, Network Diagrams, test records, SAT/IST documentation, and handover packs.
• Review customer electrical distribution networks to identify critical assets, condition monitoring opportunities, and appropriate data points for Digital Services solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across software platforms, networks, gateways, communication protocols, connected assets, and integrated systems.
• Identify and manage technical risks, interfaces, and dependencies, escalating complex issues where required.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, customers, field teams, subcontractors, factories, and Connected Services Hub teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Contribute technical expertise to solution architecture, project planning, tender support, continuous improvement initiatives, and lessons learned activities.

About You

• Relevant degree qualification coupled with previous experience in a similar role
• Proven understanding of electrical concepts and broad technical competencies
• Proven knowledge and experience in both Ethernet networks and related Operational Technology (Control System, RTU, Gateway, Energy Automation System)
• Demonstrated knowledge of equipment communications protocols(TCP/IP, Modbus, IEC61850) and passionate about emerging predictive and analytic technologies
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to partner with key stakeholders and comfortable performing in a high-tempo project driven environment
• Experience in Industrial IoT, automation, cybersecurity, cloud connectivity or IT/OT integration is highly regarded
• Knowledge of Schneider Electric systems such as PME, EPO, EPAS, Citect, AVEVA solutions or protection relays is highly regarded.
