Job description

State Super operates to invest, support and administer defined benefit superannuation schemes with assets of $37 billion, on behalf of the NSW Government and associated employers.

We now have an exciting career opportunity for a suitably qualified Investment Governance & ESG Manager to join one of Australia's largest superannuation funds. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Partnerships, you will be responsible for working with State Super’s outsourced investment partners to ensure adherence to State Super’s Responsible Investment Policy and to assist the business in meeting its ESG obligations to members. Your role will include :

  • Reporting on ESG integration into investment decisions and management processes at the outsourced investment partners to allow State Super to achieve its desired fund-wide ESG objectives
  • Aggregate, analyse and report relevant ESG information and data to internal and relevant external stakeholders and manage the relationship with proxy voting advice partners
  • Work with external stakeholders and State Super’s industry partners to stay informed regarding ESG trends and regulatory changes
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of ESG- related policies and frameworks that support the organization's Net Zero and other ESG public commitments
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years’ experience in a similar or related capacity within the investments, superannuation or consulting sector
  • Sound knowledge of Australian and International investment markets and the application of Responsible Investment to investment strategies and processes
  • Familiarity with and active participation in major ESG industry collaborations and associations, especially in relation to active ownership initiatives
  • Previous experience in asset management / consulting will be highly regarded.
  • Permanent resident or Australian citizen and willing to undergo a criminal background check.
