Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting an Investment Associate to support evaluation, execution, and management of private equity investments in Melbourne CBD. You will work with senior investment professionals and portfolio teams on strategic initiatives, performance improvement, and value creation.

The role requires 2–5 years in PE, IB, or related fields, strong modelling and analytics, and a degree in finance or related discipline. A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach is valued.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate advisory, or similar transaction-focused environment.
  • A degree in finance, commerce, economics, accounting, or related field.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Sound understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, and investment principles.
  • Experience working on transactions, investments, or complex commercial analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to form independent views on businesses and investments.
  • Confident stakeholder management with senior executives, advisers, and investment professionals.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, hands-on problem-solving approach.
  • CFA, CA, or related postgraduate qualifications highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate new investment opportunities across a range of sectors.
  • Conduct detailed financial, commercial, industry, and market analysis.
  • Build and maintain financial models, including valuation, DCF & LBO, and investment returns analysis.
  • Support transaction execution across due diligence, structuring, financing, and completion.
  • Prepare investment papers, presentations, and recommendations for the Investment Committee.
  • Conduct industry and competitor research to support investment theses.
  • Support deal origination and maintain relationships with advisers and market participants.
  • Work with portfolio company management on strategic initiatives and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance against budgets and investment plans.
  • Support bolt-on acquisitions, refinancing, and exit preparation.
  • Assist senior investment professionals across all stages of the lifecycle.
  • Contribute to growth and development of the firm’s investment platform.

The Investment Associate will support the evaluation, execution, and management of private equity investments, including financial modelling, due diligence, market analysis, and transaction execution. Description

The Investment Associate will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and evaluating new investment opportunities across a range of sectors.
  • Conducting detailed financial, commercial, industry, and market analysis.

Profile
  • Approximately 2-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience within private equity, investment banking, corporate advisory, transaction services, valuations, strategy consulting, or a similar transaction-focused environment.
  • A degree in finance, commerce, economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Sound understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, and investment principles.

Job Offer
