Job summary

Big Chief Hire is seeking an experienced Interstate Driver to join our Burton Head Office. This full-time role involves transporting vehicles, plant, heavy haulage freight and oversized cargo across Australia on interstate routes.

You will operate Road Trains, manage long-distance trips and ensure loads are secured according to load restraint procedures and relevant regulations. Applicants should have an MC licence with 3+ years’ experience and proven interstate experience.

Qualifications

• Current MC licence with minimum 3 years' experience.
• Proven Road Train experience.
• Experience transporting heavy vehicles and freight interstate.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport vehicles, heavy machinery and freight across interstate routes.
• Operate Road Trains and manage long-distance interstate trips.
• Load, unload and secure freight using correct load restraint procedures.
• Comply with NHVR regulations, COR, and load restraint requirements.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and maintain roadworthy equipment.
