Lawson Elliott Recruitment is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Accountant for the Central Coast/Gosford area with work-from-home flexibility. You will balance compliance work with advisory responsibilities while engaging a growing client base. The role offers regular training, clear progression, and a collaborative, open-office culture.

You should have 3–4 years in public practice, CA/CPA or near completion, and excellent Excel skills. Experience with Xero/MYOB is favored.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Managing taxation compliance for ITR, CTR, TRT, FBT, BAS and PTR.
• Preparation of detailed CGT calculations and Division 7A workings.
• Assist senior staff with tax planning strategies and complex advisory matters.
• Liaise with clients and the ATO to resolve queries.
• Review cloud-based bookkeeping (Xero and MYOB) for data integrity.
• Contribute to process improvements and mentor junior staff.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain a wide variety and exposure to all facets of work undertaken and be a part of the end to end process of client engagements. This is a hands on position for someone ready to step up. You will balance technical compliance with high level advisory support, helping clients navigate the end to end process. Additionally, they have a culture where remuneration is based off performance not your position title in the practice. The firm has a a large offshore team who do all the grunt work so you can focus on building your client base and managing your own portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.

Preparation and management of taxation compliance for ITR, CTR, TRT, FBT, BAS and PTR.

Preparation of detailed CGT calculations and Division 7A workings.

Assisting senior staff with tax planning strategies and complex advisory matters.

Liaising directly with clients and the ATO to resolve queries.

Reviewing cloud-based bookkeeping (Xero and MYOB) to ensure data integrity.

Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal firm processes.

They are now looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team that is CA/CPA qualified or close to completion, with at least 3 -4 years of experience in business services/public practice. To be successful in this role you will need to have prior experience with client contact and have exceptional Excel skills.
