Strike 1 Recruitment is assisting a Perth-based employer to recruit an Intermediate Accountant for a Perth CBD office-based, full-time role.

The candidate will work closely with experienced accountants and senior management, gaining exposure to accounting, taxation and business advisory work while developing technical and client-management skills.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years' relevant Australian accounting experience.
• Public practice or similar accounting environment experience.
• Strong accounting and taxation fundamentals.
• Good understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparing financial accounts and management reports.
• Preparing tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Preparing BAS and other compliance requirements.
• Assisting with tax planning and general taxation advice.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and reconciliations.
• Assisting clients with day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping.
• Supporting senior accountants with more complex client matters.
• Communicating with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Assisting with financial reporting and business advisory work.
• Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and capable Intermediate Accountant to join our growing team in Perth CBD.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who has developed a solid foundation of accounting and taxation experience and is ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive and professional environment.

Working alongside experienced accountants and senior management, you will gain broad exposure to accounting, taxation and business advisory work while developing your technical and client management skills.

This role is office-based five days per week, providing a collaborative environment where you can work closely with the wider team, learn from experienced professionals and build strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing financial accounts and management reports.
• Preparing individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns.
• Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other compliance requirements.
• Assisting with tax planning and general taxation advice.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and reconciliations.
• Assisting clients with day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping requirements.
• Supporting senior accountants with more complex client matters.
• Communicating with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
• Assisting with financial reporting and business advisory work.
• Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate and timely workpapers and documentation.
• Managing multiple client assignments and meeting deadlines.
• Contributing positively to the team's culture and continuous improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, proactive and keen to develop their career.

• 2-4 years' relevant Australian accounting experience.
• Experience working in public practice or a similar accounting environment.
• Strong accounting and taxation fundamentals.
• Good understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, Business or equivalent.
• CA or CPA studies commenced or a willingness to commence/progress professional studies will be highly regarded.
• Relevant Australian accounting experience is essential.
