Team Accounting Solutions is a well-established accounting and business advisory firm near the waterfront in Queensland, providing taxation, compliance, and advisory services to SMBs. We seek an Intermediate Accountant to develop technical skills, work closely with clients, and build a long-term career in public practice.

You’ll join a supportive, collaborative team with mentoring, ongoing professional development, and a focus on work-life balance, including an early finish every Friday.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Business Services/Public Practice
• Accounting degree or equivalent
• CPA or CA (or studying) not essential
• Strong technical accounting and taxation skills
• Excellent communication with clients

Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
• Preparing and lodging income tax returns during client appointments
• Assisting with tax planning and complex tax matters including Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
• Managing ATO, client, and internal deadlines
• Building strong relationships with clients and responding to day-to-day queries
• Identifying opportunities to add value and support clients in achieving their financial goals
• Contributing to improvements in systems, processes, and practice management
• Continuing to develop knowledge across taxation, accounting, and business advisory services

The Role

Reporting directly to Senior Management, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality accounting, taxation, and advisory services to our clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
• Preparing and lodging income tax returns during client appointments
• Assisting with tax planning and more complex tax matters, including Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
• Managing ATO, client, and internal deadlines
• Building strong relationships with clients and responding to day-to-day queries
• Identifying opportunities to add value and support clients in achieving their financial goals
• Contributing to improvements in systems, processes, and practice management

About You

You are a motivated and proactive accountant who enjoys working with clients and being part of a collaborative team environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience in Business Services/Public Practice - 2+ Years
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
• CPA or CA qualification (or currently undertaking studies - not essential)
• Strong technical accounting and taxation skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
