Job summary

Bentleys Queensland, a full-service advisory and accounting firm, is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to gain hands-on experience across a diverse client portfolio. You will work with experienced managers and partners focused on your development, broadening technical skills and taking on more responsibility as you progress.

You will collaborate with clients, participate in advisory conversations, and grow within a supportive team that prioritizes knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• Strong MS Office experience, especially Excel.
• Two or more years in Australian public practice.
• Solid understanding of Australian taxation principles.

Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.
• Completing BAS, IAS and other compliance requirements.
• Assisting with tax planning and advisory projects.
• Preparing supporting workpapers and liaising with the ATO on client matters.
• Managing your workflow and meeting client deadlines with support from senior team members.

As an Intermediate Accountant at Bentleys, you'll gain hands‑on experience across a diverse client portfolio while working alongside experienced managers and partners who are invested in your development. Key Responsibilities Include

• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Bring

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Approximately two or more years' experience in Australian public practice
• A sound understanding of Australian taxation principles
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB and/or QuickBooks
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
