Job summary

Randstad is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager for a Public Sector Organisation on the Gold Coast. This temporary engagement is expected to last three months with the possibility of extension, at an AO8 level, offering a competitive casual hourly rate of $97.66–$103.19 plus superannuation.

The role requires hands-on ownership of core financial operations and close collaboration with executive leadership, with flexibility during peak reporting periods.

Qualifications

• Mandatory accounting qualification equivalent to CPA or CA.
• Public sector financial management experience preferred.
• Budget management, month-end execution and financial governance expertise.
• Understanding of public sector financial accountability frameworks.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end month-end closure and preparation of management reporting packs for executive review.
• Drive budgeting, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis to support departmental objectives.
• Provide financial counsel and formal submissions to Executive Leadership and governance bodies.
• Monitor operating and capital expenditures against approved funding allocations.
• Maintain internal controls and coordinate internal/external audits.
