Job summary

Forensicare seeks a General Counsel to lead its legal strategy in forensic mental health, driving outcomes at organizational and community levels. You will be the principal adviser on risk, compliance, and strategy, building an effective in-house team and managing external panels.

Required is a LLB with an unrestricted practicing certificate in Victoria and substantial senior experience, including leadership at board/executive levels, with emphasis on health and criminal law interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws with a current unrestricted practicing certificate in Victoria.
• Substantial post-admission senior legal experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong background in health/mental health law and the criminal justice interface.

Responsibilities

• Lead the in-house legal function and strategy.
• Provide expert legal leadership on health and mental health law.
