Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety seeks an Intelligence Officer to identify threats and support decisions that keep Victorians safe. The role is based mainly at Ravenhall, with travel across Victoria and occasional overnight stays.

You will collect, record and analyse information to support informed decisions and produce clear reports on threats and trends. You must obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 within 12 months and complete the Intelligence Development Program within six months.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of corrections and the issues affecting Victoria's prison system
  • Understanding of intelligence methods and laws governing corrections, serious offenders and human rights
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and information systems, preferably Palantir or similar tools
  • Sound judgement and the ability to solve problems, adapt to change and work well with people from different backgrounds

About us

Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for Corrections Victoria (CV) and its stakeholders. CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU) as well as localised prison intelligence units and within Post Sentence Facilities across Victoria.

What you will do

About you

You must hold Australian citizenship and obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance within 12 months, unless already held.

You must complete the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Development Program within six months.

You should also have:
