About Our Client

Our client is a leading provider of insurance restoration services, specialising in the recovery of residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, storm, and mould damage. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a motivated Casual Trainee Technician to join their team in Townsville. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to build a long-term career in a hands‑on, fast‑paced industry.

About the Role

As a Trainee Restoration Technician, you’ll work alongside experienced and accredited professionals, assisting with a variety of property restoration projects. This is a minimum 35‑hour‑per‑week role, offering structured on‑the‑job training, the opportunity to complete IICRC certification, and the potential to transition into a full‑time position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with restoration works including water extraction, structural drying, cleaning, and mould remediation
• Support with light demolition tasks such as removing plasterboard, skirting, vinyl, carpet, and underlay
• Help with contents inventory, packing, and relocation
• Learn to operate industry‑specific equipment and moisture detection tools
• Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, builders, and insurers
• Record project progress, including photos and job notes, using mobile or tablet apps
