Vectura Recruitment Pty Ltd – Townsville QLD is partnering with an established insurance building business to appoint an Insurance Building Estimator / Supervisor in Townsville. This permanent, full-time, on-site role suits someone with insurance building, restoration or claims repair background.

You will attend scheduled insurance inspections, assess cause and damage in occupied homes, and prepare accurate line-by-line scopes and costings for insurer requirements using mobile estimating tools

Qualifications

• Insurance building background with residential repairs preferred.
• Experience in claims repair and insurances claims process.
• Mobilometer/estimating apps on field devices knowledge.
• QBCC builder licence or site supervisor eligibility.
• White Card, driver licence, First Aid and background checks.
• CAT event experience is advantageous.
• Carpentry or similar trade background preferred.
• Townsville regional trade network familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled insurance inspections, assessing cause and damage in occupied homes.
• Prepare line-by-line scopes of works and costings to insurer requirements using mobile estimating tools.
• Coordinate make-safes and emergency works where homes are not secure or weathertight.
• Supervise approved claims to completion as QBCC-licensed supervisor, managing local subcontract trades.
• Control cost and variations, delivering repairs that meet NCC, QBCC and WHS requirements.
• Keep policyholders, assessors and the Construction Manager updated through the claim lifecycle.

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 + Super (negotiable based on experience)

Vectura Recruitment is partnering with an established insurance building business with a strong Queensland presence to appoint an Insurance Building Estimator / Supervisors in Townsville. These are priority appointments. The role is ideally suited to someone from an insurance building, restoration or claims repair background.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled insurance inspections, assessing cause and resulting damage in occupied homes.
• Prepare accurate, line-by-line scopes of works and costings to insurer requirements, using mobile estimating tools in the field.
• Coordinate make-safes and emergency works where homes are not secure or weathertight.
• Supervise approved claims to completion as the QBCC-licensed supervisor, managing local subcontract trades.
• Control cost and variations, delivering quality repairs that meet NCC, QBCC and WHS requirements.
• Keep policyholders, assessors and your Construction Manager updated through the claim lifecycle.

Skills & Experience

• Insurance building background: ideally, you will have estimated and supervised residential insurance repairs with an insurance builder, restoration or claims repair business.
• Claim experience: storm, water ingress, flood and impact claims, including make-safes, strip-outs and reinstatement.
• Qualifications: Certificate IV in Building and Construction, plus a QBCC builder or site supervisor licence (or eligible to obtain).
• Technology: confident scoping and quoting on mobile devices across several claims and job-management platforms.
• Compliance: White Card, driver licence, First Aid, National Police Check and pre-employment medical.
• Highly regarded: catastrophe (CAT) event experience alongside business-as-usual claims.
• Highly regarded: carpentry or similar trade background, with water damage, mould and asbestos awareness.
• Highly regarded: cyclone region repairs (roof, tie-down, windows to wind rating) and an existing Townsville trade network.
