Job summary

APV Corporation Pty Ltd – Campbellfield VIC is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the Test Centre's crash track operations. You will calibrate, repair and maintain Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs) and related instrumentation, ensuring quality, regulatory and customer calibration requirements are followed.

Qualifications

As a Test and Evaluation centre focused on safety innovation, you will work alongside experts in Crash & Safety Testing, Environmental & Life Cycle Testing, Mechanical & Dynamic Impact Testing, High Speed Imaging, High speed data acquisition and instrumentations and Biomechanical Testing.

The primary objectives within this role will be to provide correctly calibrated and maintained Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs or crash dummies), equipment and sensors whilst ensuring that all quality, regulatory & customer calibration requirements are followed, including documentation & filing of results.

This will include to;

Test, repair, distribute, calibrate, maintain and assemble crash centre instrumentation and ATDs including but not limited to; accelerometers, pressure sensors, velocity sensors, force gauges, Data Acquisition systems & all associated cabling, connectors & fittings (using external suppliers and services where necessary).

Assist in the maintenance & calibration of all Dummy Lab calibration rigs & associated equipment & tooling. Support other departments’ business activities where mechanical/electronics know how is required.

Perform preventative maintenance tasks, manage logistics and order/track/receive parts and consumables.

Keep efficient & precise records to meet Quality Systems, customer & regulatory requirements.

Tackle challenges and ensuring accountabilities in a methodical manner applying principles of physics and a mindset for continuous improvement.

Providing support to colleagues and in other areas of operation as required.

Criteria

An aptitude for electronics, mechanics & software will ensure a smooth transition into this role.

Exposure to some tertiary or equivalent studies in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics or demonstrated industry experience. Grad. & Jnr. Applicants encouraged to apply.

Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail and organisational skills are a must. You will be successful in the role if you possess a high level of motivation and integrity, a pro-active attitude, and good analytical and problem solving skills. The ability to managing parallel projects with maturity and professionalism will be required within the role.

It would be advantageous (though not required) to have experience in a certified industrial test laboratory environment within the Automotive, Aviation or Defence industry. Please include if you have knowledge of electronic instrumentation, mechanical interaction and deformation, calibration, measurement of uncertainty, NATA Quality Systems or ISO17025.
