Job summary

Northern Health is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician Grade 3 to join the Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD) across Northern Health campuses. The role focuses on reprocessing reusable medical devices in line with AS5369:2023 and NSQHS standards to ensure continuous patient care.

Applicants should have 1–2 years in CSSD reprocessing, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in reprocessing of reusable medical devices as Grade 3 Instrument Technician.
• Good working knowledge of AS5369:2023 & NSQHS standards.
• Ability to prioritise workload and needs of consumers in a busy CSSD.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Instrument Technician Grade 3 to join the Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD).

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

This role requires experienced, goal achiever and team player who has flexibility to work across Northern Health campuses

This role is responsible for ensuring that CSSD provides services to their consumers continuously and without delay by following the standard.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience of 1-2 years in reprocessing of reusable medical devices as Grade 3 Instrument Technician and good working knowledge of AS5369:2023 & NSQHS Standard
• Proven ability to prioritized workload & needs of consumers in a busy CSSD
• Demonstrated knowledge in loan sets processes
• Well-developed organizational and communication skills
