Department of Education Victoria – Geelong VIC is seeking an experienced classroom teacher to plan, prepare and teach programs that achieve specific student outcomes. The role emphasises literacy and numeracy, use of data to inform practice and collaboration with students, parents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning; using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
• Demonstrated behaviours aligned with Department values; commitment to reflective practice and professional learning.

Responsabilités

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertaking other classroom duties as determined by school priorities.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Assisting with non-teaching supervisory duties as required.
