Job summary

Islamic College of Brisbane seeks a dedicated Music Teacher to join the team in 2027. You will plan and deliver Music education aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the College's expectations, inspiring students to grow musically and confidently through classroom learning and hands-on experiences.

The successful applicant will contribute to a positive learning environment and support music and performing arts opportunities across the College, including performances and choirs where

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with relevant tertiary credentials and QCT registration eligibility.
• Proven ability to teach Music/Performing Arts in a school setting.
• Ability to plan engaging, inclusive and differentiated lessons.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons aligned to curriculum.
• Develop student skills in performance, composition, listening and appreciation.
• Provide opportunities for instrumental or vocal performance development.
• Assess and report on student learning and achievement.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes engagement and creativity.
• Contribute to college performances, assemblies and events.
• Support co-curricular music and Performing Arts activities as appropriate.
• Collaborate with staff and leadership to strengthen opportunities.
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents and colleagues.
• Participate in professional development and college activities.
• Uphold the Islamic ethos, values and expectations of the College.
