Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education Office is seeking a Primary Teacher for Sacred Heart Primary School, Booval, Queensland. The successful applicant will foster a learner-centred classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum and Catholic values.

The role includes curriculum development, student assessment and reporting, pastoral care and collaboration with the leadership team to promote a positive school culture. Eligibility to work in Australia and QCT registration are required.

Responsibilities

• Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices
• Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
• Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
• Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
• Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
• Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
