Empire Group in Melbourne CBD is seeking an Insolvency & Commercial Litigation Lawyer (2–4 PAE) to accelerate your career in a fast-paced, high‑growth environment. You will work closely with Partners and senior practitioners, gaining hands-on exposure from day one and taking on meaningful responsibility in insolvency and disputes.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years PAE in litigation, insolvency or commercial disputes.
• Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
• Curious, proactive and ready to take ownership.
• Calm, commercial and able to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Disputes in all courts, mediations, tribunal hearings and enforcement actions.
• Draft briefs, pleadings, correspondence and core litigation documents with guidance that actually builds your skillset.
• Manage delegated phases of litigation from commencement through to settlement or appeal.
• Attend directions hearings, adjournments and basic contested matters (with counsel).
• Negotiate with insolvency stakeholders - liquidators, receivers, administrators, secured creditors and directors.
• Build relationships with insolvency practitioners, SMEs, financiers and commercial clients.
