Job summary

Staff Australia invites applications for an Injection Moulding Operator based in Somerville, VIC. You will operate and set injection moulding machinery to meet production targets, ensuring product quality and safety standards are maintained.

The role requires experience with mould changes, machine start-ups and troubleshooting, plus knowledge of plastics materials. Weekly pay and a hands-on manufacturing environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating injection moulding machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with machine start-ups, mould changes and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of plastics materials, processing parameters and common moulding defects.
• Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set injection moulding machinery.
• Perform machine start-ups, shutdowns and mould changes.
• Conduct safety checks and inspections on machinery, moulds and equipment.
• Complete routine preventative maintenance including lubrication.
• Follow production schedules and meet targets.
• Inspect, pack and label finished products to quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling and process issues.
• Assist with machine breakdowns and production issues.
• Handle materials and support efficient production processes.
• Complete production orders, checklists and manufacturing documentation.
• Assist with basic tooling repairs and insert changes.
• Support Rotational Moulding and Toolroom departments as required.
