Frog Recruitment in Sydney is assisting a large national organisation to recruit an Industrial Relations Lawyer. The role focuses on enterprise bargaining, strategic employee relations and handling industrial disputes within a highly unionised environment.

You will advise on disciplinary matters, review enterprise agreements and partner with operational leaders on workforce planning, with occasional travel across the business.

Qualifications

  • Admitted Australian Lawyer with current practising certificate.
  • 2+ years' PQE in employment, workplace relations or industrial relations.
  • Experience in mid-tier/top-tier or specialist workplace relations practice.
  • Completed a formal graduate program.
  • Exposure to enterprise bargaining and IR matters.
  • Comfort appearing before the Fair Work Commission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters.
  • Support and lead enterprise bargaining activities and EBA reviews.
  • Represent the business in Fair Work Commission matters, conciliations and disputes.
  • Advise on disciplinary matters and workplace investigations.
  • Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning and organizational change.
  • Engage with unions and employee representatives.
  • Review enterprise agreements, awards and contracts.
  • Support governance and industrial risk management activities.
  • Travel occasionally to support stakeholder groups.

Job description

Are you an employment or industrial relations lawyer looking to step into a complex, highly visible role where you can genuinely influence workforce strategy and business outcomes?


Our client is a large national organisation operating across NSW, QLD, VIC and SA, with a highly unionised workforce and a complex industrial landscape. Following a long-standing team member's resignation, they are seeking an Industrial Relations Lawyer to join the team on an initial 6 month contract, with a strong view to permanency.


This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys the practical side of workplace relations and wants exposure to enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, workforce planning and strategic employee relations advice within a large corporate environment. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders and the Employee Relations team, supporting a business with more than 50 Enterprise Agreements across 30+ subsidiaries.


The Role

Reporting into the Employee & Industrial Relations function, you will:



  • Provide advice on a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters

  • Support and lead enterprise bargaining activities and EBA reviews

  • Represent the business in Fair Work Commission matters, conciliations and industrial disputes

  • Advise on disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, performance management and terminations

  • Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning and organisational change initiatives

  • Engage with unions and employee representatives

  • Review and interpret enterprise agreements, awards, employment contracts and workplace policies

  • Support governance, compliance and industrial risk management activities

  • Travel occasionally to support stakeholder groups across the business


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:



  • Admitted Australian Lawyer with a current practising certificate

  • Minimum 2 years' PQE in employment law, workplace relations or industrial relations

  • Experience gained within a respected mid-tier, top-tier or specialist workplace relations practice

  • Completed a formal graduate program

  • Exposure to enterprise bargaining and industrial relations matters

  • Confidence appearing before or engaging with the Fair Work Commission

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex industrial instruments

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • A commercial, pragmatic approach and eagerness to continue developing your career
