Job summary

Metso in Tomago Workshop is seeking an Industrial Painter to prepare, apply coatings and finish mining equipment with a strong safety focus. You will contribute to producing high-quality workmanship in a busy workshop environment.

You will work closely with tradespeople and supervisors, develop your painting skills and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, receiving ongoing training and competitive benefits as part of a global leader in sustainable mining technology.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting and protective coatings.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, blasting, masking and sanding.
• Apply industrial coatings and paint systems to mining equipment and components.
• Ensure all work meets quality and customer specifications.
• Conduct inspections and identify defects or areas requiring rework.
• Operate and maintain painting equipment and tools.
• Follow workshop procedures, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Work closely with workshop tradespeople, supervisors and planners.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

About the Role

As an Industrial Painter, you will play a key role in preparing, painting and finishing a wide range of mining equipment and components. Working within our workshop team, you'll help ensure every product leaves the workshop to the highest quality standard while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

This position offers the opportunity to develop your skills, learn from experienced professionals and contribute to a high-performing workshop environment.
