Job summary

Chemcote Specialty Coatings is seeking motivated workers for grit blasting, coating applicator, or painter roles across Wollongong and the East Coast of Australia. You will assist in surface preparation and the application of protective coatings on steel structures at ports, industrial sites, and marine environments.

Full training will be provided. The role requires physical fitness, reliability, and willingness to learn, with opportunities for interstate or international project work.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting, blasting, or coatings (advantageous).
• Comfortable performing physically demanding outdoor work.
• Good communication in English and ability to work as part of a team.

Chemcote Specialty Coatings is an Australia-wide specialist in anti-corrosion coating solutions. We provide end-to-end services, from inspection of steel infrastructure and corrosion assessment, through surface preparation and repair, to final protective coating application.

We Are Hiring: Motivated Workers (Grit Blaster / Coating Applicator / Painter)

About the Role

You will be involved in the preparation and coating of steel structures to protect against corrosion. Work is primarily carried out on-site across Wollongong and the East Coast of Australia, including ports, industrial sites, and marine environments.

Full training will be provided.

Typical duties include:

• Surface preparation (cleaning, drying, grit blasting)
• Application of protective coatings
• Working as part of a team on various project sites

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in industrial painting, blasting, or coatings (advantageous)
• Experience as a painter, mechanic, welder, or diver (beneficial)
• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Comfortable working outdoors and at heights
• No claustrophobia (confined space work may be required)
• Flexible with working hours
• Valid driver's licence (Class C)
• Good communication in English
• Reliable, team-oriented, and willing to learn
