Job summary

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Industrial Electrician role based in the Greater Sydney Area. The Industrial Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment used in industrial automation and manufacturing environments. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation; troubleshooting electrical faults; and performing preventive maintenance on machinery and control systems. The role involves working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motors, drives, sensors, and safety systems to ensure reliable operation and minimal downtime. The Industrial Electrician will collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, and operations teams to support system upgrades, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in industrial electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery, motors, drives, and control panels.
  • Experience working with automation and control technologies, such as PLCs, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial communication networks.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering documentation.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical safety standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and safe work practices in industrial environments.
  • Relevant trade qualification or certification as an Electrician, with appropriate licensing for industrial work in New South Wales.
  • Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to diagnose complex electrical and automation issues under time constraints.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff on-site.
  • Previous experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or process industries is highly beneficial; experience with smart manufacturing or data-driven systems is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work on-site in various industrial settings within the Greater Sydney Area and adapt to evolving technologies and equipment.
